Nutrivitas®Lycopene Health Benefits:
Nutrivitas®Lycopene is a natural pigment found in plants and belongs to the group of carotenoids, which are mainly found in the ripe fruits of tomatoes from the Solanaceae family. It is one of the most powerful antioxidants found in plants in nature.
■ Source
In 18 In 1873, Hartsen isolated the first red crystals from the berry yam Tamuscommunis L. In 1875, Millardet extracted the crude extract containing lycopene from tomatoes, and in the early 20th century, the basic chemical structure of lycopene was studied. In 1913, Schunk found that this substance was different from carotene and first named it lycopene. In 1913, Schunk discovered the difference between this substance and carotene and first named it lycopene. In the 1950s, medical experts in the United States reported for the first time that lycopene had an anti-cancer effect, and after epidemiological studies and many animal experiments, it was proven that lycopene had the effect of preventing and inhibiting malignant tumours. From 1985 to 1991, the Italian Institute for Medical Research carried out a test on cancer prevention using a high dose of lycopene to confirm that serum lycopene concentration is related to gastric cancer and the risk of gastric cancer. In 1997, the U.S. Cancer Research Conference and the annual report of the American Cancer Society pointed out that the tomato has a good anticancer effect, and will be the tomato recommended for anticancer food.
Nutrivitas® Lycopene is mainly found in the fruit of tomatoes, watermelon and red grape skins, as well as in red palm oil, while others contain relatively low levels. Among them, tomatoes have the highest lycopene content, and its content varies according to the variety and ripeness of the vegetable or fruit, the higher the ripeness, the higher the lycopene content.
Particularities of Nutrivitas®Lycopene:
Product Specifications:
Nutrivitas®Lycopene is available in the following specification and contents:

○
☑ Nutrivitas®Lycopene 80% crystal
Product quality standards:
● USP/BP/EP/FDA-GRAS/Novel Food/GB1886.78/In-house
Production technology description:
●Methods of producing Lycopene generally include chemical synthesis, microbial fermentation and plant extraction. In the chemical synthesis method, lycopene is synthesised by a chemical reaction in which 4,8-dimethyl-3,7-nonadiene-1-aldehyde is condensed with propionaldehyde in one step under the action of a catalyst to give tetradecanal, which is then reacted with ketene diphosphonate and finally condensed with decanedialdehyde to give lycopene. The microbial fermentation method uses microorganisms such as Trispora boulardii or Escherichia coli for fermentation to produce lycopene. Lycopene is extracted from tomato skins by leaching with organic solvents.
▶ Antioxidant
▶ Anti-UV damage
▶ Slows down the ageing process
▶ Food field
▶ Pharmaceutical field
Nutrivitas®Lycopene may inhibit the proliferation of prostate, breast and other cancer cells; help treat diabetes and high blood pressure; regulate liver function; and reduce neuronal damage in Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases. Common dosage forms include softgels and microencapsulated tablets.
Nutrivitas®Lycopene Applications:
Nutrivitas®Lycopene is used to colour dairy products, jams, condiments and other foods as a substitute for synthetic pigments; to extend the shelf life of processed foods and inhibit lipid oxidation; and to enhance the antioxidant and health benefits of beverages and dairy products.Common dosage forms include tablets, capsules, oral liquids, functional drinks and nutrition bars.
Nutrivitas®Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant that scavenges free radicals and reduces oxidative stress, helping to prevent a wide range of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease and certain types of cancer.
Nutrivitas®Lycopene protects the skin from ultraviolet (UV) rays and reduces the risk of UV-related skin damage such as sunburn and skin cancer.
Nutrivitas®Lycopene helps slow down the cellular aging process, keeping skin healthy and reducing signs of skin aging such as discoloration, dryness and wrinkles.
■ Absorption and distribution
Nutrivitas®Lycopene is an unsaturated olefinic compound, the main pigment in ripe tomatoes and one of the most abundant carotenoids. Lycopene does not have the β-carotene-β-dauron ring structure of β-carotene, so it cannot be converted to vitamin A in the body; it is not a form of vitamin A. Nutrivitas®Lycopene is more readily absorbed than alpha-carotene and beta-carotene, but is also influenced by many factors. Lycopene in the cis configuration is more easily absorbed than lycopene in the trans configuration. About 50% of the carotenoids in the human body are lycopene, and lycopene is also one of the major carotenoids in human milk.
▶ Cardiovascular health
Nutrivitas®Lycopene may help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by lowering lipoprotein oxidation and reducing the development of atherosclerosis.
▶ Cosmetic field
Nutrivitas®Lycopene reduces UV damage and repairs 'after-sun' skin, inhibits melanin production and lightens discolouration and wrinkles, strengthens the skin's barrier function and improves dry and sensitive skin.
