Liposology®Glutathione Health Benefits:
Liposology®Glutathione is a functional product in which glutathione (GSH) is encapsulated within a bilayer lipid structure using liposome encapsulation technology. Glutathione is a tripeptide composed of glutamic acid, cysteine, and glycine. Due to the sulfhydryl group (-SH) in its molecule, glutathione has strong antioxidant properties. However, it is susceptible to damage by gastrointestinal enzymolysis, oxidation, and other factors. Liposomal encapsulation protects glutathione from degradation and enhances bioavailability through targeted delivery.
■ Technical characteristics
Significantly improved stability: Glutathione is susceptible to oxidation and degradation by enzymes. The phospholipid bilayer of liposomes insulates glutathione from enzymes and oxygen, thereby prolonging its half-life.
Targeted delivery and cellular uptake advantages: Modifying the surface of liposomes (e.g., by linking liver-targeting ligands) can enrich them in the liver, the main organ responsible for metabolizing glutathione, thereby improving the efficiency of liver disease treatment. After liposomes fuse with cell membranes or undergo endocytosis, glutathione can be released precisely inside the cell, thus avoiding extracellular degradation.
Sustained versus controlled release properties: The release rate is modulated by the number of layers and phospholipid composition of the liposomes. Multilayered liposomes release more slowly, which is ideal for long-lasting antioxidant needs. Monolayers of small liposomes release more rapidly, which is ideal for acute antioxidant stress scenarios.
Biocompatibility and low toxicity: Glutathione is an endogenous, liposomal carrier that can be metabolized by the body. It is non-immunogenic and suitable for oral, injectable, or topical use (e.g., in skin care products).
Particularities of Liposology®Glutathione:

Product quality standards:
● In-house, food grade
Ingredients:
●The core component is glutathione, and the carrier material is natural phospholipids(e.g., sunflower lecithin) . These components form a bilayer membrane structure, with the glutathione encapsulated within the aqueous core of the liposome.
▶ Antioxidant
▶ Liver health
Liposology®Glutathione Applications:
Liposology®Glutathione can be used as a raw material in health products. For example, it can be used to make softgels with vitamin C to enhance the antioxidant effect or oral liquids with natural sweeteners to adjust the taste. These products are suitable for people with swallowing difficulties. It can also be added to sports drinks, protein powder, and other functional foods.
Liposology®Glutathione can be used in cosmetics as an additive in skin-whitening and lightening products, as well as anti-aging masks. Richtek glutathione can be used in pharmaceuticals for auxiliary treatment and as high-purity liposome raw materials for preparing intravenous injections for the treatment of hepatitis and cirrhosis.
Liposology®Glutathione is an important antioxidant in the body that can scavenge free radicals (e.g., ROS and RNS) and protect cells from oxidative damage. Liposomal delivery enhances its distribution to organs such as the liver and kidneys and alleviates oxidative damage caused by alcohol and drugs.
Liposology®Glutathione promotes liver detoxification, accelerates the removal of metabolites (e.g., acetaldehyde and toxins), improves alcoholic liver disease and drug-induced liver injury, and reduces transaminase levels.
▶ Immunomodulation
Liposology®Glutathione enhances the activity of immune cells, such as T-cells and macrophages, and improves the body's resistance to infections. It is especially suitable for patients undergoing radiotherapy and people with weakened immune systems.

■ Production technology description
Glutathione can be produced by various methods, such as reverse evaporation, injection by fast cryogenic processes and film dispersion method. The film dispersion method is the most widely used classical method in the food industry. In this method, phospholipids and cholesterol are dissolved in an organic solvent, which is then removed by rotary evaporation to form a phospholipid film. Then, a buffer containing glutathione is added to hydrate the film and form multilayered liposomes. Sonication or extrusion is then performed to obtain uniform-sized liposomes. Liposology®Glutathione particles can be controlled at the nanometer scale. These particles can be absorbed through the intestinal lymphatic system, bypassing the liver's first-pass effect.
▶ Skin health
Liposology®Glutathione inhibits melanin production, lightens pigmentation, and slows down the aging process. It also improves dullness and roughness through antioxidant action.
